What separates Rasmussen from the rest of the products in the industry is that their logs are stained, rather than painted. So you don't have to worry about discoloration. Of course you cannot avoid soot and carbon that sticks to the logs, but Rasmussen logs ages gracefully (That's how the manufactures state it!).
